Opening Weekend Schedule

Opening Weekend events are free to new students. No registration is required but many events are first come, first served.

Whether you're a commuter or a resident student, Opening Weekend is UB's way of welcoming you to our community. At these popular events, you'll meet new people and receive valuable information to help you get ready for life at UB. Plenty of volunteers will be ready to help you check-in at your residence hall and help you become familiar with campus.

Meet up with your Orientation Leaders from the summer revisit your academic goals for the year, and plan your Opening Weekend schedule.

Location - TBA
Transferred to UB? Connect with other transfer students as well as UB staff. Learn how to get involved in Tau Sigma, the national honor society specifically for transfer students, and the Transfer Peer Mentor Program. Take a tour of both campuses and find out where your classes will be held. Light refreshments will be served and there will be prizes!

Take a moment to bid your student farewell, but save the date for Family Weekend, October 7-9, 2016.

Spend the morning participating in community service projects, meeting new people and working with local groups that make Buffalo a great place to live! Lunch provided. Space limited to first 80 participants. Please wear closed-toe shoes.

  • MyUB - MyUB is your personal portal and your gateway to UBmail, UBlearns, HUB Student Center, and UB Directory.
  • UBmail - UBmail (@buffalo.edu) is the primary email address that UB will use to contact you. Read, send, and manage your mail on a daily basis.
  • HUB Student Center - HUB is where you find and manage information about class registration, transcripts, finances (including paying your bill) and you to-do list.
  • UBlearns - UBlearns is a course management tool. Many, but not all, professors use UBlearns to post syllabi, resources, assignments, exams, grades, and class announcements.
  • UB Mobile - Get essential UB information and services anytime, anywhere on your mobile device.
  • UB Directory - Online university directory for people, places and offices.
  • UB Information Technology (UBIT) - Your source for all information technology needs to support and enhance your UB education.
